IPL 2023 is underway right now, and 31 matches of the tournament are in the history books. The top four teams on the points table after 31 games are Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.
The battle for a place in the Top 4 is more intense than ever because the team holding the seventh position, Mumbai Indians, have six points in their account, and the number one team, Rajasthan Royals is having eight points.
All teams will be keen to finish in the Top 4 of the points table, but one of the 10 teams will have to take the wooden spoon home as well. Mumbai Indians finished last in the IPL 2022 points table, but it does not look like they will finish 10th once again. Here’s a list of the three teams with the highest chance of finishing last.
1. Delhi Capitals are likeliest to finish 10th in IPL 2023 points table
Delhi Capitals have disappointed their fans a lot with their performance in the competition. Despite having some big names of world cricket like David Warner, Anrich Nortje, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Manish Pandey, Prithvi Shaw and Rilee Rossouw, the team has failed to win matches consistently.
DC won their first match last Thursday, snapping their five-match losing streak in the competition. Judging by the way DC have performed so far, they look the top candidates to finish 10th.
2. Kolkata Knight Riders may finish 10th in IPL 2023
Kolkata Knight Riders have not performed up to the mark in this season as well. They have won only two of their six matches, and both came because of extraordinary innings. Nitish Rana has struggled as a captain in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. It will be challenging for KKR to avoid a 10th-place finish.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad have surprisingly failed to light up the tournament. They have a stellar squad on paper, but the results have not been as expected so far. If they fail to live up to expectations, SRH might finish 10th as well.
