ICC ODI World Cup will happen in India later this year. This mega event happens once in every four years. The tournament started in the year 1975, and West Indies were the inaugural champions. Notably, West Indies have hosted only one edition of the mega event thus far.
The Caribbean islands played host to the World Cup in the year 2007. 16 teams participated in the competition, with the teams being divided into four groups of four each. India and Pakistan shockingly exited in the first round of the tournament itself. Bangladesh upset India in the group stage, whereas Pakistan lost a match against Ireland.
While India and Pakistan bounced back stronger after the early exit in the 2007 ICC ODI World Cup, the following three teams could not bounce back after an early exit from the mega event.
1. Bermuda played in ICC ODI World Cup 2007
Bermuda were a part of Group B along with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the 2007 edition of the World Cup. They suffered big defeats in all matches. The Bermuda team finished last in the points table with zero points from three matches. Their net run rate was -4.345.
2. Kenya
African team Kenya first came into the spotlight when they upset some of the top teams in the 1990s. Next, in 2003, the Kenyan side even qualified for the semifinals of the 2003 World Cup. However, their downfall started soon after. In 2007, Kenya exited in the first round, with only one win in three matches. Kenya played in 2011 WC but never made it to the grand stage again after that.
3. Canada
Canada finished last in the Group C points table of the 2007 ODI World Cup. The North American nation lost three matches against Kenya, New Zealand and England. Like Kenya, Canada made it to the 2011 WC, but after that, the Canadian team has not made it to another mega event.
