Batters have to practice a lot in cricket because there are different types of bowlers in a team, and they have to face multiple bowlers in the same match. Without proper practice, the batters cannot tackle the deliveries from different bowlers in different conditions.

For example, on a pitch that helps the pacers, the hook shoot, leaving the ball and pull shot can be useful, while on a turning track, the players need to have a proper idea of when to go on the backfoot and when to dance down the track and attack the bowlers.

Many players spend hours in the nets working on their shots. Some of them also use the technique of visualization and adapt accordingly in the match. Here’s a list of four such players:

Devon Conway recently visualized his innings against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2023. The left-handed batter came out to open the batting for CSK against PBKS at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He scored 92 runs and remained unbeaten till the end. After his innings ended, IPL shared a video of his practice, which was quite similar to the shots he played in the real match.

    2. One of the current Pakistan batters – Mohammad Rizwan

Many cricket fans would have seen the video of how Mohammad Rizwan played the same shots in practice which he played against the Indian cricket team in the first match of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Pakistan won that match by 10 wickets.

    3. Virat Kohli
