In the seventh game of their season, which is currently underway against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers have leaked 287 runs from just 20 overs.
It is not that RCB have the worst bowling attack in IPL history, but it is just that the resources are not being used in the best manner. Here are four changes which Royal Challengers must to do keep the opponents below 165 in IPL 2024 matches.
1. RCB must appoint Virat Kohli as captain for rest of IPL 2024
Virat Kohli is a bowlers’ captain. He has led RCB in some IPL tournament, where the bowling lineup was even weaker than the current one. Kohli knows how to get the best out of his bowlers. An aggressive captain like him can charge up Royal Challengers and bring their ‘A’ game to the table.
2. RCB must bring back Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj had the time of his life in 2023. When he found his line and length right, he would single-handedly rattle the opposition. Still, Bengaluru have dropped him from the team now. It is criminal to leave out a pacer like Siraj.
3. RCB must back Alzarri Joseph in IPL 2024
Royal Challengers Bengaluru showed so much faith in Alzarri Joseph at the auction. However, in just a few matches, they gave up on him. Perhaps, a captain like Kohli can understand Joseph’s strengths and weaknesses and bring the best out of him.
4. Karn Sharma should be allowed to show his experience
Lucky charm Karn Sharma was benched after a decent performance against Chennai Super Kings. The leg-spinner has a ton of experience under his belt, but for some reason, RCB have kept on rotating their spinners without backing anyone much.
