IPL is the number one competition among all the T20 leagues across the world. Almost every cricketer on the planet aims to have an IPL contract because the competition level is top-notch plus the cricketers earn a lot of money by playing in the league.
Several star Indian cricketers were in the final phase of their careers or had even retired by the time the Indian Premier League started in the year 2008. However, the sons of some of those Indian cricketers have participated in this league. Here’s a list of those four names:
1. Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut today
Arjun Tendulkar was a support bowler for the Mumbai Indians in 2020. In 2021, MI signed him and he has been with the team for two seasons. Finally, Arjun made his debut for MI today against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium.
2. Roger Binny’s son Stuart Binny played for many IPL teams
Stuart Binny is the son of former Indian pacer Roger Binny. Stuart made his debut for Mumbai Indians in 2010 and then played for Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the league.
3. Yograj Singh’s son Yuvraj Singh
Yograj Singh is another former Indian star whose son played in the league. Yuvraj Singh was the captain of the Punjab Kings team in the year 2008. The all-rounder then moved to Pune Warriors in the 2011 and then captained the side as well. Before retiring, Yuvraj also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
4. Sunil Gavaskar’s son Rohan Gavaskar
Rohan Gavaskar did not have a long career in the league. He played a couple of matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2010. Rohan is now working as a commentator in the league.
