However, a few Indian stars faded away despite having a good outing in their first series. Here’s a list of four such Indian cricketers.

    1. Barinder Sran

    Barinder Sran made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2016. He picked up a four-wicket haul on debut and followed it up with two more wickets in the second game. Still, the left-arm fast bowler never got an opportunity to represent India in T20Is after the Zimbabwe tour.

    2. Faiz Fazal

    Another player who made a good start to his international career in Zimbabwe in 2016 but faded away after that is Faiz Fazal. The left-handed batter scored a fifty on ODI debut. However, for some reason, he never got another chance to play for the country.

    Mandeep Singh had a memorable T20I debut series against Zimbabwe in 2016. He scored 87 runs in 3 matches at a fantastic average of 43.5. He smashed 11 fours and a six. However, Singh was never given another chance to play for the Men in Blue.

    4. Prithvi Shaw

    Not a single Indian fan can forget the way Prithvi Shaw absolutely demolished the West Indies cricket team’s bowling attack in his debut Test match. Many fans felt that the Indian team has found its next Virender Sehwag. However, four years after his debut, he is nowhere near the Indian Test squad. He was dropped from the squad after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2020-21 and is yet to play in Tests after that.
