It is a well-known fact that the competition level among the Indian cricketers to earn a place in the playing XI is at the highest level right now. Because of so many domestic tournaments and the increase in the number of IPL teams, new talents are coming across every now and then.
Several experienced Indian cricketers have lost their places in the Indian squad because of the rise of the youngsters. There have also been five players who recently made their debuts but have gone off the radar. Here’s a list of those four names.
1. One of the top Indian cricketers – T Natarajan
Left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan was a match-winner for the Men in Blue in their away series against Australia in 2020/21. Quite shockingly, Natarajan played only one match after that tour and has not been considered for the tours of New Zealand and Bangladesh.
2. Jayant Yadav
Spin-bowling all-rounder Jayant Yadav was a regular member of the Test squad. However, he did not get a place in the Indian squad for the Bangladesh tour. Yadav played one ODI for India earlier this year against South Africa.
3. One of the top Indian cricketers – Devdutt Padikkal
Devdutt Padikkal grabbed the headlines by winning the Emerging Player of the Season award in IPL 2020. The left-handed opener had two fantastic seasons with RCB and even made his international debut in 2021 against Sri Lanka. However, a poor showing in his debut series has kept Padikkal out of the squad for a long time.
4. Varun Chakravarthy
Mystery spin bowler Varun Chakravarthy came into the limelight after his top-quality performances for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. He even played for the Indian cricket team in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. However, he has not got a single chance to play for the country after the mega event of 2021.
