2. When Rahul Dravid persuaded Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly not to play T20 World Cup
Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar played only one T20I for India, while Sourav Ganguly never made his T20I debut. Many fans were surprised when these legends did not play in T20Is even during their prime. Former Indian team manager Lalchand Rajput revealed in a chat with Sportskeeda that Rahul persuaded
“Yes, it is true (Dravid persuading Tendulkar and Ganguly not to play the 2007 T20 World Cup). They said let’s give an opportunity to the youngsters, Sachin and Sourav not to play and give chances to youngsters,” Rajput said.
3. Munaf Patel’s strong words to Sachin Tendulkar
In 2007, India had a poor outing in the 50-over World Cup. They crashed out early after losing to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. All Indian players were given tight security. At that time, Sachin Tendulkar had a chat with Munaf Patel and asked if he was afraid, to which he replied:
