MS Dhoni is one of the greatest wicket-keepers of this era. Of course, in the Indian Premier League, he is the most successful player behind the stumps. In more than 200 games, MSD has accumulated around 160 dismissals as a wicket-keeper. For CSK, he is the obvious regular behind the stumps. However, there have been four other cricketers who have donned the gloves for CSK. In this article, we take a look at four players apart from MS Dhoni, who has been the wicket-keeper for CSK.

MS Dhoni has been a fit cricketer all his career. Hence, he hardly missed any games. However, he did have to sit out of a few due to the injuries that were unavoidable. Sometimes, he played but did not keep wickets. Hence, other members of the team had to step in. There are four of those who have done that in the history of CSK.

1) Parthiv Patel

Parthiv Patel is one of the players apart from MS Dhoni, who has been the wicket-keeper for CSK. In the initial seasons of the competition, CSK always had a domestic wicket-keeper reserve in the team. Parthiv did that job for three seasons. During this time, he kept wickets for CSK on nine occasions. It was when Dhoni was not able to stand behind the stumps. Parthiv took five catches and executed two stumpings. He was decently successful behind the stumps in the yellow outfit. For other teams, Parthiv was the obvious choice as the glove-man.

The responsibility was not new for the former ICL cricketer. For Mumbai Indians, Rayudu was the wicket-keeper for a long time. However, in recent years, the player has not done a lot of wicket-keeping. While he did not get a chance in CSK, he has not done that in domestic cricket as well.
