Delhi Capitals had one of their worst IPL seasons this year, and they would have already started planning for the IPL 2024 tournament now. Despite having a strong squad and a fantastic coaching staff, DC finished with only five wins from 14 matches. They were the first team to be eliminated from the race to the playoffs.

There is a high possibility that Rishabh Pant will return as the Delhi Capitals captain in IPL 2024. His return will be a massive boost for the team. Besides, the team management may look to release a few underperformers from this season. Here’s a list of four players whom DC may release.

    1. Delhi Capitals may not retain Manish Pandey for IPL 2024

One player who is likely to be released by the Delhi Capitals is Manish Pandey. The veteran Indian batter failed to bring his experience to the fore as he managed only 160 runs in 10 matches at a disappointing strike rate of 109.58. Some fans on social media even opined that this could even be the last time Pandey played in IPL.

    2. Chetan Sakariya may not play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024

Chetan Sakariya emerged as a strike bowler for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021, but DC could not use him well in 2022 and 2023. Sakariya warmed the benches in a majority of the matches. It will be better for both parties if DC and Sakariya end their association in 2024.

    3. Mustafizur Rahman

Another left-arm fast bowler to feature on the list is Mustafizur Rahman. The Bangladesh pacer played only two matches for the Delhi Capitals. He was unavailable for some matches due to Bangladesh’s series against Ireland. It is unlikely that DC will give him another contract.

    4. Priyam Garg

Priyam Garg joined DC as a replacement. He played two matches, scoring 22 runs. As the former India U-19 skipper could not play any big knocks, he may find himself in the auction once again.
