CSK team owners have invested in foreign leagues and bought franchises known as JSK and TSK. The Chennai Super Kings are among the most successful cricket teams of all times. Chennai have won five IPL championships, with the fifth one coming earlier this year in Ahmedabad.
They have the largest fan-following in the Indian Premier League, and to expand their fanbase to foreign lands, Chennai Super Kings introduced their sister franchises Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and Texas Super Kings in MLC. Not all CSK players represent JSK and TSK. Generally, a few players of SA20 and MLC remain unsold in IPL.
However, the following four performers of Texas and Joburg can earn a call-up to Chennai if they perform well.
1. TSK and JSK star Gerald Coetzee may play for CSK soon
South African speedster Gerald Coetzee has been a wicket-taker in SA20 and MLC. He has a four-wicket haul for Texas and Joburg. It should not be a surprise if he is in CSK soon.
2. TSK star Daniel Sams may play for CSK and JSK soon
Daniel Sams is in LSG right now, but there is a chance of him getting released because there was no place for him in playing XI during the 2023 IPL season. If Lucknow release him, Sams could land up in CSK, especially looking at his performance for Texas in the recent match that helped them qualify for the playoffs.
3. TSK leg-spinner Mohammad Mohsin
USA all-rounder Mohammad Mohsin is the joint-highest leading wicket-taker for TSK in MLC 2023 right now. He has bagged eight wickets with his leg-spin. Since the conditions at Chepauk favor the spinners, there is an outside chance of Mohsin playing for CSK soon.
4. JSK batter Leus du Plooy
Leus du Plooy is a rising star of South Africa. He was the second-highest run-scorer for the Joburg Super Kings in SA20 last year. He averaged 62.25 while scoring 249 runs in eight innings for JSK.
