Some of the biggest names in world cricket participated in that competition. Quite a few teams tried out new captains as well in that season. Rohit Sharma made his captaincy debut in IPL 2013, while Virat Kohli became RCB’s full-time captain in that season.

Sharma and Kohli went on to become two of the most successful captains in the league, but the following four players never got an opportunity to lead an IPL side after the 2013 season.
