It was a surprising decision from Mumbai Indians to let go of one of their key players in the form of Ishan Kishan. The hard-hitting southpaw has always delivered in the most clinical manner and his attendance in any T20 side can be a terror-instilling element into the heart of the oppositions.
However, his recent controversies, his recently dwindling numbers and his inability to make the headlines due to all the right reasons has somehow tarnished his image and in Mumbai’s retention policy of seasoned warriors, Kishan has fallen out of favour. However, by no means does that detract the kind of firepower that Kishan brings to the platter and he can still be a threat on any given day, if he gets going. Considering that menace that Kishan is, here are four franchises that try and rope him in.
1. DC
Ishan Kishan can be a like for like replacement for the sensational Rishabh Pant and Delhi Capitals can really reap handsome dividends from a hard-hitting left-hander. He is a sensational striker of the ball and the sheer quality of his strikes made him a rock at the top for DC. With Tristan Stubbs in the mix, if they are able to pair him with Ishan Kishan at the top, then DC might just find the right code of destruction.
2. PBKS
Punjab Kings will be rebuilding their entire squad and it’s going to be intriguing to see Ishan Kishan come to the mix and take over the reins. Despite the fact that they have a very talented Prabhsimran Singh in the mix, the arrival of Ishan Kishan will simply augur a bout of experience which can do a world of good for PBKS. Apart from that, Ishan Kishan’s versatility makes him another deadly element to have in any team.
3. LSG
With KL Rahul out of the side, they would want a back-up wicket-keeper if something happens to Ǫuinton de Kock. With Ishan Kishan’s threat and with his rock-solid striking, he can be a very goof opening pair alongside the instrumental ǪDK. ǪDK is a helmsman for the boat and Ishan Kishan can be the destructor. With that being said, Kishan can also be the back-up wicket-keeper for ǪDK.
4. KKR
KKR will eye for Phil Salt again in the IPL considering his sensational prowess. However, if they want to replace him with an Indian hard-hitter, Ishan Kishan might be a very good fit. Kishan’s hard-hitting gives him the exact same leeway like that of Salt and his glovemanship is equally brilliant considering the fact that he has donned the Indian threads.
