Yuzvendra Chahal has been one of the most formidable leg-spinners to have taken stride in IPL. He is named in a similar club as that of Rashid Khan and his wicket- taking prowess sets an incredible precedent ahead of him.
With 205 scalps at an economy rate of 7.84, Chahal has burnt bright in the star- studded skies of IPL. Not only does he add a sharp turner to the echelons of any team whatsoever but he is also an effective death over specialist and a game- changer of the highest order. As Rajasthan Royals let him go ahead of the IPL 2025, there may be a massive tug of war ahead of the upcoming mega-auction. Here are four teams that might be hot on the heels of Yuzvendra Chahal.
1. RCB
It goes without a saying that RCB will be hellbent to get back one of their key performers. Chahal built an impressive empire at RCB and on most of RCB’s bowling records, he had his name etched. In the last two seasons, RCB really felt the pangs of the dearth of a quality turner and Chahal can be a mighty plug for the void that was left after the seasoned leggings left for RR.
2. Gujarat Titans
Titans have a vert solid bowling unit which is led by Rashid Khan. With that being said, if they are able to add another leggie in Chahal, not only will they double up their bowling arsenal but in case if something forces Rashid out for a match or two, Chahal’s bowling flair perfectly suits the bill that Rashid comes in with the ball in his hands.
3. KKR
With Suyash Sharma released, KKR will want one key leg-spinner in their side and Chahal’s experience undoubtedly makes him a brilliant pick. However, the price might be an issue as KKR can still bag Suyash for a far lesser price unless other franchises want to try their luck with the young leggie. However, the trio of Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarty and Yuzvendra Chahal might be an absolute nightmare for the batters.
4. Mumbai Indians
It has been a while since Mumbai has seen quality turners raking up the heat. Chahal has formerly been a part of MI and yet his narrative about Andrew Symonds was a scary one. However, times have changed and so has the cricketing fabric. If both Mumbai and Chahal is able to bury the hatchet, it might just be another sweet reconciliation and a menacing one too.
