    4. New Zealand – 4

    New Zealand hasn’t won any major white-ball World Cups, but they have been in the finals of a few of them. The winner of the inaugural World Test Championship played in the finals of the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cups. But they lost to Australia in 2015 and England in 2019 and ended as runners-up. They also suffered a loss in the finals of the 2009 Champions Trophy against Australia. Their last lose in the ICC finals came in the 2021 T20 World Cup against Australia.

    Sri Lanka has won major ICC titles in the white-ball format, which include the 1996 ODI World Cup, the 2014 T20 World Cup, and the 2000 Champions Trophy. But they have lost four ICC finals. They have lost the finals of the 2007 and 2011 ODI World Cups against Australia and India, respectively. Sri Lanka has also lost the finals of the 2009 and 2012 T20 World Cups against Pakistan and the West Indies, respectively.

    England has been one of the strongest teams of late in all formats of the game. But they are one of the unluckiest ones as well. England has won the joint-most ICC finals a total of six times. They have lost the finals of the ODI World Cups in 1979 to West Indies, in 1987 to Australia and 1992 against Pakistan. They lost the 2004 and 2013 finals of the Champions Trophy as well. Then, they lost the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup against the West Indies.

It includes the loss in 2003 ODI World Cup against Australia. They have also lost in the finals of the 2000 and 2017 Champions Trophy against New Zealand and Pakistan, respectively. The 2014 T20 World Cup final loss came against Sri Lanka. Apart from these, India also lost both editions of the World Test Championship in 2021 and 2023 against New Zealand and Australia, respectively.
