Even the overseas players gained more popularity in India by playing in IPL than playing in international matches for their own nation. A few top performers received an opportunity to end their careers on a high with a championship win, but the following four underrated IPL legends retired without a proper farewell.

    1. Dwayne Smith played his last IPL match in 2017

It was baffling to see Dwayne Smith not earn a contract at the mega auction which happened in 2018. Smith was one of the top match-winners for the Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings during his prime. He had a decent stint with the Gujarat Lions as well, but after GL’s exit in 2017, no team picked him.
