3. Devon Conway – Punched hand to the bat in frustration
During last year’s mega event in the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand opener Devon Conway punched his hand to his bat after losing his wicket. As a result, he missed the final match against Australia.
4. Jonny Bairstow – Freak accident while playing golf
England batter Jonny Bairstow was present in his nation’s squad for the mega event in Australia. However, he had to withdraw from the tournament because of a freak accident while playing golf.
5. Jofra Archer – Injury due to fish tank
England fast bowler Jofra Archer missed last year’s mega event as well as this year’s tournament because of a fish tank incident. He was trying to clean his fish tank and injured himself. Soon after, he had an elbow problem, forcing him to stay out of action.
