If the first match was a thriller, then the second ODI between India and West Indies was even better. If you feel ODI cricket is boring, then watch the first two ODIs between India and West Indies. After two nail-biting finishes, it is India that has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead with one match left to play. But apart from a close finish, fans also saw a bizarre dismissal of Shubman Gill in the second innings.

It was West Indies that won the toss and decided to bat first. They got off to a great start with two consecutive 50+ run partnerships. Shai Hope and Kyle Mayers (39) added 65 runs for the first wicket. Then, Hope added another 62 runs with Shamarh Brooks (35). But the big partnership came for the fourth wicket of 117 runs between Hope and skipper Nicholas Pooran (74 runs).

Hope became the 10th batter to score a century in his 100th ODI match and went on to score 115 runs. West Indies gave India a big target of 312 runs. Chasing the target, India had a slow and rusty start, with skipper Shikhar Dhawan getting out after scoring 13 runs off 31 balls. Gill was looking good but got out in a bizarre way. He was trying to play a scoop shot and the ball just scooped up and the bowler took the catch.

Once Gill got out, Suryakumar Yadav (9) also got out cheaply. However, after that, the Indian middle-order steered the ship and kept India in the game. Shreyas Iyer made yet another fifty and scored 63 runs, while Sanju Samson scored his maiden fifty and made 54 runs. But in the end, it was a heroic performance from Axar Patel who just changed the whole scenario of the match.
