    Almost all nations have announced their respective squads for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 tournament in Australia. As always, there were some surprise picks and some shocking absentees in the squads. Here’s a list of five players who have been in top form in 2022, and still missed out on a place in their country’s squad.

    1. Sanju Samson will not play in ICC T20 World Cup 2022

    Wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson has done a phenomenal job in T20s this year. He was in fine form while captaining Rajasthan Royals and also smashed his maiden T20I fifty against Ireland. However, the selectors picked Dinesh Karthik, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant ahead of him.

    2. Cameron Green will not play in ICC T20 World Cup 2022

    All-rounder Cameron Green was in stupendous form during the recently-concluded T20I series against India. However, Australia have not named him in their squad.

    3. Mohammad Amir, Pakistan

    Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir is currently playing for the St. Lucia Kings in Caribbean Premier League 2022. He is one of the top wicket-takers in the tournament, with 13 wickets in 10 matches.

    Cricket South Africa have continued to ignore Faf du Plessis. He is the fourth-highest run-getter in CPL 2022 with 291 runs in eight innings for the St. Lucia Kings.

    5. Ben Duckett, England

    Ben Duckett has displayed tremendous form in the ongoing seven-match T20I series against England. He has scored 167 runs and is the second most successful England batter. However, the ECB did not pick him for the mega event in Australia.
