Achieving success in all 3 formats of international cricket is not everyone’s cup of tea. To become a successful player in Tests, ODIs and T20Is, a player needs to have proper technique and ability to innovate his game as well. Many players have played in all three formats of international cricket, but only a few of them have managed to build big careers in Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
India made its T20I debut back in the year 2006. In the last 17 years, there have been only five such batters, who have scored a century in Tests, ODIs and T20I cricket. Here’s a list of the five names:
1. Shubman Gill – Youngest Indian to score 100 in 3 formats of international cricket
Young Indian opener Shubman Gill has become the youngest Indian to achieve this feat. He scored his maiden Test hundred against Bangladesh last year, while his maiden ODI hundred was against Zimbabwe. Gill scored his first T20I century versus New Zealand today.
2. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli has scored many centuries in Test and ODI matches. He scored his maiden T20I hundred last year against the Afghanistan cricket team in Asia Cup 2022.
3. Rohit Sharma
Indian captain Rohit Sharma owns the world record for the most T20I hundreds by any batter. Sharma has also registered multiple hundreds in Tests and ODIs.
4. KL Rahul
Another current Indian batter to feature on the list is KL Rahul. The former Indian ODI vice-captain has scored multiple hundreds in all three formats.
5. Suresh Raina – 1st Indian to score hundreds in 3 formats of international cricket
Former Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina was the first batter to achieve this feat. He scored multiple ODI hundreds, while his maiden Test hundred came on debut against Sri Lanka. His first T20I was against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2010.
