    In the last four to five years, the following cricketers received a call-up to the national squad. However, they were dropped from the squad for the next series before they even made their debuts. Here’s a list of five such players.

    1. One of the rising stars among Indian players – R Sai Kishore

    Gujarat Titans spinner R Sai Kishore was drafted into the Indian squad for the T20I series against the Sri Lankan cricket team last year. However, the left-arm spin bowler did not receive a place in the playing XI.

    2. One of the top all-rounders among Indian players – Rahul Tewatia

    Rahul Tewatia has done well in the last three IPL seasons. He has played the role of a finisher and also bowled some important overs for the team whenever needed. He was called up for the home T20Is against England in 2021 but did not get his maiden cap.

    3. Simarjeet Singh

    Simarjeet Singh was a member of the India’s T20I squad for the away series against the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2021. The current Chennai Super Kings star missed out on a chance to make his debut then.

    4. Priyank Panchal

    Priyank Panchal has been in and out of the Indian Test squad. Despite performing so well in domestic cricket, the Gujarat batter is yet to play a Test match for the Indian side.

    5. Basil Thampi

    Not many members of the cricket universe would remember that fast bowler Basil Thampi earned his maiden callup to the Indian squad for the series against Sri Lanka in 2017. However, just like others on the list, he did not play any matches.
