The Indian Premier League is the topmost cricket league globally right now. Many talented cricketers have associated themselves with the tournament over the last 13 years. Currently, the 13th edition of the league is underway in the United Arab Emirates. Unfortunately, there are no fans allowed in the stadium this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just like all the previous seasons, the current edition of the IPL is proving to be a close one. So far, only one team has secured a place in the Top 4, while only one team is out of contention. Talking about IPL, the focus is not only on playing well but also playing fair with the Spirit of Cricket alive. To honor the teams who play fair cricket, the organizers award the fair-play award every year at the end of the season.

The Chennai Super Kings have won the most Fairplay awards, but here are the five franchises who played at least three IPL seasons and still could not win the fair-play title.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have been the unluckiest team in the IPL for the simple reason that they have made it to three finals. However, none of the summit clashes ended in their favor.

RCB have been one of the most popular cricket teams in the IPL. Along with the IPL trophy, the fair play award is something that has stayed away from the Bangalore-based franchise in the competition’s rich history.

2.Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals are another team who have not had luck on their side in the IPL. Despite playing all seasons since 2008, DC have never qualified for the final match.

This year, they started on a grand note, but they have lost momentum as the tournament has progressed. Talking about fair play awards, the Delhi-based franchise have surprisingly zero fair play awards to their name.

3.Deccan Chargers

IPL 2009 Champions Deccan Chargers had some big names like Adam Gilchrist, Herschelle Gibbs, Kumar Sangakkara, Rohit Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, RP Singh, Scott Styris, and many others in their brief IPL history. They had finished at the last position in 2008.

They played their last IPL season in 2012, and then the Sunrisers Hyderabad replaced them. Like RCB and Delhi, the Chargers could never put their hands on the fair play award in IPL.

4.Pune Warriors India

Pune Warriors India can be called the most disappointing franchise in IPL history. The owners signed some T20 stars like Yuvraj Singh, Luke Wright, Robin Uthappa, Steve Smith, Marlon Samuels, Tamim Iqbal, Jesse Ryder, and backed them up with the experience of Sourav Ganguly and Michael Clarke.

Unfortunately, things never got going for them in the IPL. They played three seasons and always finished in the bottom half of the standings. They could not win the fair play award also.

5.Kolkata Knight Riders

Two-time IPL champions have been captained by the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Brendon McCullum, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, and Eoin Morgan in the IPL. They won the title in 2012 and 2014.

However, one trophy that KKR have not win in the IPL is the award for fair play. Thus, these are the five teams that have never won the IPL Fair Play award.
