The Indian Premier League (IPL) has served as a platform for every cricketer on the planet to show his cricketing skills to the world. The best part about the league is that if a player performs well, his lifestyle can change in a few years. Many cricketers came from poor backgrounds and became wealthy after playing in the IPL.

Every player targets an IPL deal for a more extended period and not just have a big contract for a solitary season. IPL is 13 years old now, and the next season will be the 14th edition of the tournament. MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma are the highest-paid cricketers in IPL history.

Former Kings XI Punjab captain David Miller stands at the fifth position on this list. The southpaw from South Africa was the cornerstone of Kings XI for many seasons. The Mohali-based franchise paid him 12.5 Crores per season from 2014 to 2017. Thus, Miller has managed to earn more money than Chris Gayle in the IPL.

Speaking of his current contract, the Rajasthan Royals bought Miller for just 75 lakhs in the IPL 2020 Auction. Unfortunately, Miller got out for a diamond duck on his IPL debut for RR.

4. David Warner – 58.5 Crores

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner missed the 2018 season because of his involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal. Also, he did not have a contract in the inaugural season. Still, Warner attained the fourth spot on this leaderboard.

The Australian batsman has played 12.5 Crores per season in the last two years. The former Orange Cap winner has represented the Delhi Capitals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.

3. Shikhar Dhawan – 70.1 Crores

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Shikhar Dhawan has made over 70 Crores, playing for the Delhi Capitals, the Mumbai Indians, and the Orange Army in the league. Dhawan finished 2nd on the Orange Cap list this year.

The southpaw had a deal worth 12.5 Crores with the Hyderabad-based franchise from 2014 to 2017. However, his price fell to 5.2 Crores in 2018. Later, he switched to the Delhi Capitals.

2. Gautam Gambhir – 94.62 Crores

Former Indian captain Gautam Gambhir won two IPL titles, both leading the Kolkata Knight Riders. Apart from KKR, Gambhir also played for his home franchise, Delhi Daredevils.

Gambhir earned 2.9 Crores per season for the first three years. His price shot up to 11.04 Crores after the mega-auction in 2011. The 2011 World Cup winner made 2.8 Crores in his final season. The Kings XI Punjab and the Rajasthan Royals tried to buy him, but the Delhi-based franchise eventually gained his services.

Suresh Raina has played for two teams in the IPL, namely the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Lions. He was the highest run-scorer in IPL history for a long time. However, Virat Kohli has overtaken him.

The southpaw did not play IPL 2020 because of personal reasons. However, he will be back in the 2021 season, thereby becoming the first left-handed batsman to earn 100 crores from IPL.
