5 lesser-known bowlers who have dismissed MS Dhoni in IPL

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has achieved much success in the last 12 years of the Indian Premier League. The right-handed batsman is the most capped player in the tournament’s history, and it is interesting to note that Dhoni has got out for a duck only three times in his long IPL career. Dhoni has been a part of two teams – namely Rising Pune Supergiant and Chennai Super Kings.

The fans can say that his performance at CSK has been way better than what he did for RPS in 2016 and 2017. Under his captaincy, CSK have made it to the playoffs in all the 10 seasons. 1.Musavir Khote

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have had a blockbuster rivalry in the IPL. MS Dhoni has been a significant part of this rivalry.

During the first ever IPL match between CSK and MI, Dhoni lost his wicket to lesser-known Musavir Khote. The right-arm medium pacer, Khote, picked up only 2 wickets in IPL and Dhoni was one of them.

2.Harmeet Singh

Deccan Chargers were one of the strongest teams in IPL during the second and the third season. They won the title in 2009 and finished fourth in the 2010 season.

They played the 2nd semifinal of IPL 2010 against CSK, where youngster Harmeet Singh picked up the crucial wicket of MS Dhoni. Unfortunately, DC lost that game by 38 runs.

3.Kevon Cooper

West Indies has produced many T20 specialists in the last decade or so. Kevon Cooper was one of the top all-rounders who emerged from the Caribbean regions.

Cooper played a few games for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL. One of the biggest moments of his IPL career came during the match between RR and CSK, where Cooper dismissed Dhoni for just 2 runs in Jaipur.

4.Ashish Reddy

All-rounder Ashish Reddy turned up in a few games for the Hyderabad-based IPL franchise. He batted in the lower middle order and bowled medium pace.

During a match between CSK and SRH, Reddy picked up one of the most significant wickets of his career by dismantling the stumps of MS Dhoni. SRH won that game by 22 runs.

5.Swapnil Singh

KXIP battled Rising Pune Supergiant on a batting paradise at the Holkar Stadium in Indore during the 2017 season. Uncapped left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh would have been under pressure bowling to MS Dhoni.

However, Dhoni seemed to struggle on that wicket as he scored only 5 runs off 11 deliveries before handing a return catch to Singh. To date, Dhoni is the only wicket of Swapnil Singh in IPL!
