Rohit Sharma broke Chris Gayle’s all-time record for the most sixes in international cricket yesterday. Gayle hit 553 sixes in his international career, while Sharma has 556 sixes to his name so far.
It looks like Rohit Sharma will finish with 600 or maybe even 650 sixes to his name when his career ends. There are many new young batters who have the talent to break this record. Here’s a list of five such players.
1. Harry Brook
England batter Harry Brook has shown that he has the capability to clear the boundary at will. Brook has played fantastic knocks for England in Test cricket. If he continues to top form in T-20 and ODI, he has a chance of breaking Rohit’s record.
2. Shubman Gill can break the record of Rohit Sharma
There are two such Indian players who can break Rohit’s record. The first is Shubman Gill who has improved a lot when it comes to 6 sitting skills. He still has many years left in his career and if he continues his form he can definitely break Rohit’s record.
3. Ishan Kishan can break the record of Rohit Sharma
The other Indian batter is Ishan Kishan like Shubman Gill. Kishan can clear the boundaries at will. He is a left-hand slugger and he has a potential to break Rohit’s record.
4. Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran has seen many ups and downs in his international career so far. If he continues to be a regular member of the West Indies squad, he can definitely break Rohit’s record, looking at the way he has performed in his last few matches.
