The most interesting feature of cricket is balls flying in the air. In T20 cricket, this happens more often than in other formats. Indian Premier League is regarded as the best exhibition of this feature on the planet.

IPL 2020 was a feast in this view. While in Sharjah, the boundaries itself were short, in the other stadiums, due to change in the playing pitch, one side of the boundary used to become shorter. Hence, we saw plenty of sixers in this edition.

Although not known as outrageous six-hitters, due to the presence of the likes of MS Dhoni and Shane Watson, CSK are always expected to score several sixers. Though 2020 was not memorable in this aspect, we still saw some glorious hits in this campaign. In this article, we take you through the five highest six-hitters in the CSK squad.

5. Ravindra Jadeja – 11

Ravindra Jadeja is known more of a boundary hitter than a six-hitter. However, this season, Jaddu showed a different side of his batsmanship. Finishing most games for his team, the all-rounder slammed eleven huge hits out of the park in fourteen games. Playing mostly at death, most of these shots came against the best bowlers in the opposition. If Jadeja can add more muscle to this side of his game, even Team India would be benefited in the coming days.

4. Sam Curran – 12

He might not look like a powerful hitter of the cricket ball, but when it comes to timing, Sam Curran exhibits class. IPL 2020 was witness to this on twelve occasions. The English all-rounder was used as a floater by CSK and helped his team out of potential embarrassments on many occasions. He was one of the better players for the franchise and is a fine candidate to carry this team in the future editions.

3. Ambati Rayudu – 12

Just like Sam Curran, Ambati Rayudu also relies on timing to score the huge hits. Although both Rayudu and Curran have hit the same number of sixers, we have ranked the Hyderabad-player higher because of a better run-contribution. Coming back to Rayudu, he was inconsistent in this campaign. Despite starting well, the player could not sustain the momentum and played some forgettable knocks in a few games. Nevertheless, he was the team’s second-highest run-scorer and would have been given a decent rating by the CSK management.

2. Shane Watson – 13

When timing meets power, the result is explosive. Over the years, Shane Watson has been the best example of the same. The Aussie might look struggling for a moment, but in the next delivery itself, he has the ability to launch a sixer. That’s the level of confidence in six-hitting that Watson possesses. Although he missed a few games, Watto still ranks at No.2 on this list. He scored 13 big-hits in 2020 and entertained the viewers. Unfortunately, having retired from the game, we won’t be able to see more of this again.

1. Faf du Plessis – 14

With 14 sixers in 14 games, South African cricketer Faf du Plessis stands at the top of the list. In fact, in most other batting stats for CSK as well, Faf is at No.1 The right-handed batsman was in brilliant form this season. He was extremely consistent and was the only positive for CSK in a few games. Like most other members of his squad, Faf also relies on the timing of the ball, and this edition, he was monstrous with the act. Irrespective of the conditions and the game situation, Faf batted beautifully and scored plenty of runs for his side.
