IPL trading window can be a make-or-break business. Teams like Mumbai Indians have made great use of this window and traded in some of the best players in the world to make their team stronger even without getting into a bidding war with another franchise at the auction.

The Indian Premier League has a trading window before and after the auctions, where teams can swap players depending on their squad combinations. Some players get lucky here as they get an opportunity to move to a franchise, where they can play more matches and receive a clearer role. However, not all players are lucky.

Here’s a list of five players whose careers dwindled after they were traded to another franchise in the league.

Ali Murtaza was one of the top left-arm spinners for the Mumbai Indians. The uncapped spinner moved to Pune Warriors, and he could not impress much during his brief stint with the Pune franchise.

    2. Manvinder Bisla, 2015

Manvinder Bisla moved from Kolkata Knight Riders to Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was a match-winner for KKR but struggled to find a place in RCB’s star-studded batting lineup.

    3. Mayank Markande, 2020

Mayank Markande emerged as a match-winner for MI, but he lost his place to Rahul Chahar in the team. Soon after, MI traded him out to DC, who traded him to RR. This double swap pushed Markande down.

    4. Ajinkya Rahane, IPL 2020

Ajinkya Rahane was one of the main batters for Rajasthan Royals, but they traded him out to Delhi Capitals in 2020. Rahane did not get consistent opportunities and warmed the benches for a majority of the matches.
