Every IPL season, we see a couple of debutantes do well and make a name for themselves. IPL 2013 was no different. However, that batch saw a few popular names make their debut in the competition. These players have gone on to do well both in IPL and in International Cricket. We take a look at them in this article.

1) KL Rahul

KL Rahul is one of the popular players who made their IPL debut in 2013 along with Jasprit Bumrah. In domestic cricket, KL did well in the red-ball format but had not proved himself yet in the shorter formats. Yet, RCB gave him an opportunity in five encounters. Hence, Rahul made his debut that season. However, it was only in 2016 that he found form in IPL. Since 2018, he has been the best batter in the competition. In IPL 2020, KL was also appointed as the captain of Punjab Kings. Currently, he is one of the most popular figures in the tournament.

2) Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock also made his IPL debut in 2013. When he started playing for South Africa, many predicted that he would be a fine option for an IPL Team. QDK started off well with Delhi and Hyderabad but hit a rough patch at RCB. However, at Mumbai Indians, the South African wicket-keeper has been a revelation. He has helped the team win two trophies and has allowed Rohit Sharma to bat freely.

3) Chris Morris

Chris Morris started his journey in IPL 2013 with the Chennai Super Kings. He was rated highly and Morris did justice by playing 16 games that season. He did well but CSK could not retain him for future editions. Morris did so well that Delhi retained him ahead of IPL 2018 Mega Auctions. In the last two seasons, Morris has been subject to two massive bids in the auctions. However, following an underwhelming show in IPL 2021, his price could go down in future events.

4) Jason Holder

Jason Holder is also one of the popular players who made their IPL debut in 2013 along with Jasprit Bumrah. However, unlike the other players, the West Indian could not find immediate success in the league. He had to wait until recently to showcase his skills. In the last two seasons, Holder has been phenomenal with both bat and the ball for SRH. The all-rounder will surely be chased by a few teams at the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions.

5) Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma had a fine start to his career in IPL. CSK has a knack for spotting talent and Mohit was one of them. In his first two seasons itself, Mohit managed to pick 43 wickets. He also got a chance to play for India. The Haryana pacer also represented India at the T20 World Cup. However, it has gone downhill since then. He could not find a team in IPL 2021 and has also not done well in domestic events.
