Legends League Cricket auction is currently underway. It is the first televised auction of LLC matches. Generally, the teams signed the players via draft or offering them contracts outside the tournament. This year, the Legends League has raised funds from Dubai, which has allowed the league to conduct an auction.
There are six franchises, namely Urbanrisers Hyderabad, Southern Superstars, India Capitals, Konark Suryas Odisha, Gujarat team and Manipal Tigers. Each team has a purse of 8 crore. Several retired cricketers are a part of the auction. The following five underrated IPL stars also participated and earned big at the LLC Auction.
1. Bharat Chipli sold for 37 lakh at Legends League Cricket auction
Bharat Chipli was an integral part of the Deccan Chargers middle-order in the IPL seasons after 2010. Chipli will now turn up for the India Capitals team in LLC, who have splurged 37 lakh for his services.
2. Rahul Shukla sold for 31 lakh at Legends League Cricket auction
Express fast bowler Rahul Shukla came into the limelight when he played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He even turned up for Delhi Daredevils after that. Now, he will play for Manipal Tigers, who signed him for 31 lakh.
3. Rahul Sharma
Another bowler named Rahul to feature on the list is leg-spinner Rahul Sharma. He was the star performer for Pune Warriors during the team’s brief existence. Now, he will don the India Capitals jersey, who have signed him for 31 lakh.
4. Nathan Coulter-Nile
Nathan Coulter-Nile was an underrated match-winner with the ball. He had stints with Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The former Australian all-rounder will play for Southern Superstars at a price of 41.9 lakh.
5. Dwayne Smith
Dwayne Smith helped Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers and Gujarat Lions win many matches during his IPL career. The former West Indies all-rounder will represent India Capitals in LLC 2024, with his salary being 47 lakh.
