Yuvraj Singh is celebrating his 41st birthday today. The former Indian cricket team star was the architect of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup wins. Not a single Indian cricket fan can forget his contributions. He was a true all-rounder and a match-winner of the highest category.
Apart from the two tournaments mentioned above, Singh also won the ICC U-19 World Cup 2000, IPL 2016 and 2019, Road Safety World Series and Abu Dhabi T10 League 2019. 1. Yuvraj Singh has scored the fastest T20I fifty
Scoring a fifty is a tough job for a middle-order batter in T20I cricket because he generally gets less than 100 balls in the innings, but Singh scored fifties often for the Indian team and often they were in quick time. The half-century against England is the fastest of all time as Singh took only 12 balls in that Super 8 match of T20 World Cup 2007.
2. Yuvraj Singh has most ODI hundreds at number 5 position
Another world record accomplished by Singh is the record for the most hundreds in ODIs while coming out to bat at number five. He scored seven centuries.
3. Yuvraj Singh appeared in the most ICC Finals
Also, Singh owns the record for the most appearances in Finals of ICC Tournaments. He made it to the finals 7 times.
4. Man of the Match in all 3 ICC trophy knockout matches
Singh won the Man of the Match award while playing in knockout matches of ICC Champions Trophy, ICC World Cup and ICC T20 World Cup. He is the only player to achieve this massive feat.
5. Most Hat-tricks in 1 IPL season
Singh was not only an aggressive batter but a reliable left-arm spin bowler. In IPL 2009, he scalped two hat-tricks while playing for the Punjab Kings, which is the record for the most hat-tricks in 1 IPL season.
