CSK have many young talented players in their team, but the management preferred experience over youth in the first phase of IPL 2020. Nevertheless, the youngsters are now performing well, and here’s a look at the top five youngest batsmen to score a fifty for CSK in IPL.

3.Parthiv Patel – 23 years and 65 days

The fans might know that Parthiv Patel played for the Chennai Super Kings in the first three seasons of IPL. He kept the wickets for the Super Kings and opened the innings for the team.

Parthiv recorded his maiden IPL half-century against the Rajasthan Royals. Although CSK lost the match by ten runs, Parthiv won the hearts with his 40-ball 54.

2.Sam Curran – 22 years and 140 days

One of the only two players to score a fifty for the Chennai Super Kings under the age of 23 years is Sam Curran. He is the youngest overseas player to hit a half-century for the 3-time IPL champions.

Curran achieved this feat against the Mumbai Indians recently at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. After CSK’s top order collapsed, Sam’s fifty saved the day for CSK, but it could not avoid an embarrassing defeat.

1.Suresh Raina – 21 years and 147 days

Suresh Raina remains the youngest batsman to score a half-century for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. The left-handed batsman scored a fifty in his second IPL match only.

Raina was 21 years and 147 days old when he scored a 37-ball 53 against MI. Interestingly, the youngest batsmen to score a fifty for CSK did so against the Mumbai-based franchise. Raina missed IPL 2020 because of personal reasons. It will be intriguing to see if he is available to play in 2021 or not.
