Playing 1 ODI match for the Indian cricket team is a dream of many aspiring cricketers. The competition level in India is cut-throat as far as cricket is concerned, and it is very difficult for the players to maintain their place in the playing XI.
There have been many complaints from the fans that the new players do not receive enough backing from the management. However, the reality is that there are too many options in India for just 11 slots. Due to that reason, the following six Indian players were dropped from the squad after just 1 ODI match.
1. Kuldeep Sen was dropped after 1 ODI match
Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen made his ODI debut against Bangladesh last year. He bowled a spell of 2/37 and scored two runs but never got another opportunity.
2. Chetan Sakariya was dropped after 1 ODI match
Another fast bowler to feature on this list is Chetan Sakariya. He debuted against Sri Lanka in 2021 and scalped two wickets. Despite a decent show, the left-arm pacer is yet to play for India again.
3. Nitish Rana was dropped after 1 ODI match
Nitish Rana is another cricketer who debuted against Sri Lanka in 2021. He scored seven runs in that match. The left-handed batter has been out of the team since then.
4. Krishnappa Gowtham
Off-spin bowling all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham took one wicket and scored two runs on debut against Sri Lanka in 2021. He is yet to don the Indian jersey after that game.
5. Rahul Chahar
It is quite surprising to note that Rahul Chahar has not played his second ODI game for India yet. He took a three-wicket haul on debut against Sri Lanka.
6. Shivam Dube
All-rounder Shivam Dube made his debut in 2019. He scored nine runs and remained wicketless. As a result, he was dropped from the team.
