    Another former Sri Lankan cricketer present on this list is Mahela Jayawardene. The former Sri Lankan skipper also made it to six finals and won T20 World Cup 2014.

    Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is one of the most successful cricketers of all time. Like Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, Ponting played in six finals.

    Current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will play his sixth ICC event final in June. He successfully led India to the World Test Championship Final against Australia in 2023.

    The record for the highest appearances in ICC tournament’s final matches belongs to Yuvraj Singh. The former Indian all-rounder was a part of seven squads that made it to finals.
