They finished runners-up in the 2022 edition of the league. Many fans feel that RR have made some big mistakes when it comes to retaining and releasing players ahead of IPL Auctions. Here’s a list of six players Rajasthan should have never released.

    1. RR should not have released Deepak Chahar in IPL

It is a lesser-known fact that Deepak Chahar was once a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad. He was signed by the team back in 2011, but they released him without giving him any chances. Now, Chennai Super Kings bought him for 14 crore in 2022.

    2. Ravindra Jadeja

Another current CSK player to feature on this list is Ravindra Jadeja. Rajasthan picked him in the U-19 draft of 2008 and he played for the team in 2009. Due to some off-field issues, Jadeja got banned in 2010. He has not returned to RR after that as he has played for Kochi, Chennai and Gujarat Lions.

    3. RR should not have released David Miller in IPL

David Miller is one of the best finishers in the world right now. He was with RR until last season but they let him go ahead of the 2022 season.

    4. Liam Livingstone

Another big-hitter who was with RR until 2021 was Liam Livingstone. The England all-rounder moved to Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022.

    5. RR should not have released Yusuf Pathan in IPL

Speaking of retired players now, Yusuf Pathan played an integral role in Rajasthan’s success from 2008 to 2010. Surprisingly, the team did not retain him for 2011.
