Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have achieved enormous success in the Indian Premier League. They are the second team on the list of franchises with the most championship wins in IPL history. They won the IPL seasons which were played in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021.
MS Dhoni has been the face of the CSK franchise since the tournament’s inception. Many players have played under his captaincy in the IPL. Several players had extended stays at CSK, but some of them disappeared after just one season. Here’s a list of six such players.
1. Suraj Randiv played 1 season for CSK
Sri Lankan off-spin bowler Suraj Randiv played eight matches for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He scalped six wickets and scored two runs in those games. Eventually, he won the title with Chennai.
2. C Ganapathy
C Ganapathy is one of the few players who played just one game for the Chennai Super Kings. He made his debut in IPL 2010, where he bowled one over and conceded 13 runs.
3. Justin Kemp played 1 season for CSK
Former South African all-rounder Justin Kemp represented the Chennai-based franchise in IPL 2010. He played five matches, scoring 24 runs and picking up three wickets.
4. Makhaya Ntini played for CSK in 2008
Former South African speedster Makhaya Ntini turned up for the Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural IPL season. He took seven wickets in nine matches for the team.
5. Andrew Flintoff
Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff played three games for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2009. He scored 62 runs and took a couple of wickets in that season.
6. Chamara Kapugedara
Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamara Kapugedara played five matches for Chennai in 2008, where he scored 16 runs. It proved to be the only season where Chamara played an IPL match.
