IPL 2020 will kick off from 19th September in the UAE, with Mumbai Indians set to lock horns with 3-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings in the season opener. Chennai Super Kings had beaten Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2018 and MS Dhoni’s team will be keen to repeat that same performance in the upcoming match.
Talking about IPL 2020, this tournament will be the first IPL to be played in September. The United Arab Emirates will host the full season, and it will be the Indian players’ first tourney after the COVID-19 break. All players will get their fixed IPL salary from this season. Generally, the team captains have the most expensive IPL contracts in a team. However, there are a few extraordinary players who will earn more money than their team’s captain in IPL 2020.
6.Rishabh Pant – Delhi Capitals
Rishabh Pant has improved by leaps and bounds in the last few years. He was one of the best players for Delhi in the last two seasons. Hence, the franchise will pay him INR 15 Crores for the upcoming season. It is noteworthy that even Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni have the same salary.
Delhi’s skipper Shreyas Iyer was retained by Delhi Capitals for a salary of 7 Crores INR. It is worth noting that Pant will earn more than double of Iyer’s salary.
5.Ravichandran Ashwin – Delhi Capitals
The third name from Delhi Capitals to feature on this list is the team’s top off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. The former Chennai Super Kings bowler was a part of Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018 and 2019.
In fact, he was the captain of the team. Still, the team management traded him out of the team in the pre-season trade window. Delhi signed him for 7.60 Crores.
4.Shimron Hetmyer – Delhi Capitals
Another Delhi Capitals player who will earn more money than Shreyas Iyer is West Indies’ hard-hitting batsman Shimron Hetmyer. The southpaw played for Royal Challengers Bangalore last year but did not achieve much success.

3.Andre Russell – Kolkata Knight Riders
Andre Russell helped Kolkata Knight Riders win many matches from losing situations during IPL 2019. He is a complete all-rounder, who can bat well and bowl four overs of right-arm pace.
Because of his utility, Kolkata Knight Riders will pay him 8.50 Crores INR in IPL 2020. Russell’s captain Dinesh Karthik will make 7.40 Crore for leading the team in IPL 13.
2.Sunil Narine – Kolkata Knight Riders
Another Caribbean player present in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad who will make more money than Dinesh Karthik in IPL 2020 is Sunil Narine. The West Indian star has a contract of 12.50 Crores.
Narine started his career as a bowler, but he is also an opening batsman now. His spin bowling will be key to KKR’s success in the UAE.

Pat Cummins will not only earn more money than Dinesh Karthik in IPL 2020, but he is also the second most expensive player in the 13th IPL season. Cummins secured a 15.50 Crores deal in IPL 2020 Auction.
Like Rishabh Pant, he will earn more than double the amount of salary of his team’s captain. Cummins could come under the pressure of the colossal price tag attached to his name.
