Captaining a side in the league is difficult, but it is not impossible to get results consistently from the team in the tournament. MS Dhoni is one of the most experienced captains in the league’s history. Dhoni has been CSK’s captain since 2008, and he started his stint with three wins in first three matches.
2. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar did not have a long IPL career, but he played some great knocks during the brief stint with MI as a player. He also won his first three matches as skipper of Mumbai Indians.
3. Rohit Sharma
Another Mumbai Indians star to feature on the list is Rohit Sharma. He made his captaincy debut in 2013 and changed MI’s fortunes forever.
4. George Bailey
Former Australian skipper George Bailey initially played for CSK and then moved to Punjab in 2014. He captained Punjab that season and won his first three games as skipper.
5. Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson made his debut as captain for the SunRisers Hyderabad team in 2018. Williamson recorded a hat-trick of victories as skipper straightaway.
6. Hardik Pandya
The latest name to feature on the list is Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder achieved the feat in 2022 while captaining the Gujarat Titans team.
