    Indian stadiums have hosted a large number of cricket matches in the recent past. In 2022 alone, the Indian cricket team has hosted several teams at the home stadiums. Even IPL 2022 happened fully in India, while tournaments like Road Safety World Series and Legends League Cricket preferred India as the host country as well.

    Given the increase in the number of matches, almost all Indian stadiums got a chance to host some games this year. However, the following six popular stadiums are yet to get the rights to host an international game since a long time.

    1. Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur

    Barkatullah Khan Stadium has come into the spotlight during the Legends League Cricket 2022 matches. Jodhpur city will play host to the final phase of LLC T20. However, this venue has not hosted any international game since November 2002.

    2. Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

    Brabourne Stadium was one of the four venues that hosted the entire league stage of IPL 2022. Fans should note that this venue has not hosted any international matches since October 2018.

    3. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Dehradun

    Road Safety World Series organizers conducted a few matches at Dehradun’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. This venue hosted a series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in 2019.

    4. Captain Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior

    In 2010, Sachin Tendulkar scored a double hundred in an ODI against South Africa in Gwalior. Since then, the Captain Roop Singh Stadium has not hosted any matches.

    5. Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur

    Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium has a massive seating capacity of 65,000. It has hosted matches of IPL, Road Safety World Series and Champions League T20. However, the venue is yet to host any international match.

    6. Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat

    Surat’s Lalbhai Contractor Stadium grabbed the headlines when Chennai Super Kings decided to train at this venue for IPL 2022. The venue has hosted women’s matches but is yet to host the men’s games.
