Cricketers are known for their aggression on the field. At times, this aggression leads to fight on the field. It is a common thing to see the players of two teams have a heated exchange in international matches or even league games. However, it is rare to see fights between players after their retirement.
The retired players generally play in Legends League or exhibition tournaments. They are not high-stakes tournaments, which is why the players are generally in a light mood. However, here’s a list of seven such cricketers who had fights even after retiring from international cricket.
1 and 2. Former Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth
Former Indian stars Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth were a part of the Indian squads that won the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. They even work as commentators together, but in yesterday’s Legends League match between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals, Sreesanth and Gambhir had a war of words. After the match, Sreesanth revealed that Gambhir kept on calling him a fixer.

3 and 4. Former international cricketers Yusuf Pathan and Mitchell Johnson
A similar incident happened in the playoffs of Legends League Cricket last year as well. Bhilwara Kings’ all-rounder Yusuf Pathan had an exchange with India Capitals’ fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, who even ended up pushing him. The two players settled the differences and hugged after the game.
5 and 6. Mohammad Amir and Harbhajan Singh
Mohammad Amir and Harbhajan Singh retired from international cricket in the 2020s only. After retirement, both the former bowlers have been appearing on studio shows of various broadcasters. Harbhajan and Amir had a war of words on X during an India-Pakistan match, which ended with Bhajji sharing a video of their old battle and calling him a fixer.

7. Shahid Afridi
Shahid Afridi played in the inaugural season of Lanka Premier League after retiring from international cricket. The Galle Gladiators captain had a fight with Naveen-ul-Haq during the tournament. Even Mohammad Amir was involved in it.
