Scoring a hundred in SENA nations is a difficult job for any subcontinental cricketer. The conditions in South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia are much different as compared to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Very few batters have achieved success while batting in SENA nations. Speaking of Indian batters’ record in SENA countries, here is a list of seven such Indians who recorded a century in Tests and ODIs in South Africa, New Zealand, England or Australia in the same year.
1. Rishabh Pant – 2022
Rishabh Pant became the first Indian since 2018 to achieve this unique feat. He scored a Test ton in South Africa at the start of the year and then hit an ODI hundred in England in mid-2022.
2. Virat Kohli – Scored Test & ODI hundred in SENA nations in 4 years
Virat Kohli achieved this feat in four different years. The years were 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2018. Fans are waiting to see him recreate the feat soon.
3. Ajinkya Rahane – 2014
Ajinkya Rahane had a dream year in 2014 as he hit centuries in England, Australia and New Zealand. In England, he hit Test and ODI hundreds.
4. Sachin Tendulkar – Scored Test & ODI hundred in SENA nations in 6 years
Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has achieved this feat in most number of years. He accomplished the record in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2008 and 2009.
5. VVS Laxman – 2004
Another former Indian player to appear on this list is VVS Laxman. The Very Very Special batter scored a Test and ODI hundred in Australia in 2004.
6. Virender Sehwag – 2002
Former Indian skipper Virender Sehwag scored a Test and ODI hundred in SENA nations in 2002. He smashed a Test hundred in England and ODI hundred in New Zealand.
7. Rahul Dravid – 1999
Current Indian head coach Rahul Dravid also achieved this feat when he was an active cricketer. Dravid hit Test and ODI hundred in New Zealand.
