At the same time, the IPL teams have not forgotten their moral responsibility. Whenever they have received a chance, the franchises have tried to spread a positive message in the cricket universe. One of the ways the teams have adopted is to wear special kits for a noble cause. Here’s a list of seven such instances.
1. One of the new IPL teams – Gujarat Titans
In the ongoing IPL 2023 season, Gujarat Titans debuted a new lavender-colored jersey for their battle against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are trying to create awareness about the fight against cancer.
2. One of the most popular IPL teams – Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB will feature multiple times on the list. The first entry is from the 2021 season, where RCB wore a blue kit against KKR to thank the COVID warriors for their work in the pandemic.

RCB also wear green kits in one of their home matches of the season. They support the ‘Go Green’ initiative by wearing the green kits.
4. One of the renamed IPL teams – Delhi Daredevils
Like Gujarat Titans, Delhi Daredevils also sported a lavender kit. It was in the 2015 season against Kings XI Punjab. The lavender kit was to support the fight against cancer.
5. Delhi Capitals
Even the Delhi Capitals have sported rainbow-themed kits for one match each from 2020 to 2022. It was to express their support for inclusivity.
6. Rajasthan Royals
Before adopting pink as their permanent color in the jersey, Rajasthan Royals wore pink for the first time in 2018. It was to support the ‘Cancer Out’ campaign.
7. One of the top IPL teams – Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians wore the Women’s Premier League jersey of MI in their match against KKR this season. It was to encourage girls to take up sport.
