T20 cricket has become the most popular form of the game. The Indian cricket team played its first T20 international match on 1st December 2006 against South Africa. Next year, the Men in Blue made history by winning the first ICC T20 World Cup in the rainbow nation, and IPL started in 2008.

After the birth of the IPL, T20 cricket’s craze increased by leaps and bounds. The fans are now more interested in this format. Also, a tough competition is there to earn a place in the T20I squad at the international level. The team management often gives chances to the players because T20 is a format where one needs to take risk. But, this listicle features those seven players who registered three consecutive scores of zero in T20 internationals.

West Indies team has been the most successful one in T20 cricket. They have won two T20 World Cups, but one of their players, Andre Fletcher has recorded a hat-trick of ducks in T20Is.

Unfortunately, Fletcher’s ducks came during the ICC T20 World Cup 2009. First, Irfan Pathan dismissed him for zero at Lord’s. In the next two matches, Wayne Parnell and James Anderson ensured that Fletcher’s poor run continued.

2.Luke Ronchi

New Zealand’s wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi is regarded as one of the best lower middle-order batsmen in T20 cricket. The right-handed batsman has retired from international cricket now.

Very few fans would know that Ronchi recorded a hat-trick of ducks in his last three T20Is. Mashrafe Mortaza, Imran Tahir, and Samuel Badree did not allow the former Australian player to settle in the middle.

3.Kyle Jarvis

The only Zimbabwean player present on this list is the all-rounder Kyle Jarvis. The African player could not open his account in his first three T20I innings.

Aizaz Cheema dismissed him for a duck on T20I debut. Next, Doug Bracewell and Ajantha Mendis did not allow the youngster to open his account during the early phase of his career.

4.Mohammed Hafeez

Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder is one of the most experienced players in Pakistan’s team right now. The right-handed batsman has played in the top-order for his nation.

During the 2012 season, he was out of form in T20I cricket. In two T20Is against England, Steven Finn and Jade Dernbach dismissed him for a duck. Nuwan Kulasekara did not allow Hafeez to open his wicket in his next T20I against Sri Lanka.

5.Moeen Ali

English all-rounder Moeen Ali is an unexpected name present on this list. But the Royal Challengers Bangalore player achieved this dismal record with two ducks against Pakistan and a zero versus South Africa.

Sohail Tanvir, Shahid Afridi, and Imran Tahir were the bowlers who sent Moeen back to the pavilion before allowing him to score a single run. Ali could not touch double digits in the next three innings also.

6.Dasun Shanaka

Dasun Shanaka, who captained Sri Lanka’s T20I team in 2019, had a poor run with the bat in 2017. Still, the team management backed him a lot.

Shanaka recorded three consecutive ducks, but against three different opponents and in three different nations. Adam Zampa started his dismal run with a duck in Adelaide. Next, Yuzvendra Chahal trapped him in front of the stumps in Sri Lanka. Mohammed Hafeez got him stumped out at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

7.Washington Sundar

The only Indian name to appear on this list is Washington Sundar. The Tamil Nadu-based all-rounder recently broke into the Indian T20I team.

It is noteworthy that Sundar has got out for a duck in his last three T20I innings. Sheldon Cottrell dismissed him for a golden duck, while Lahiru Kumara did the same in January 2020. Mitchell Santner rattled his stumps at the Westpac Stadium to complete Sundar’s disappointing hat-trick.
