Royal Challengers Bangalore is one franchise that is infamous for its handling of players. Every now and then, we see instances of players failing at RCB but doing well in other teams. While sometimes it is a coincidence, at times, it could be down to player management. In this article, we take a look at the list of seven players who were dropped by RCB after just one game in the competition.

IPL is a competition that requires instant results. Every season is an opportunity for a team to win the trophy. Hence, franchises expect players to deliver results at the earliest. Sometimes, if that does not happen, dropping them from the XI is the next step that happens.

1) Abdur Razzak (IPL 2008)

Abdur Razzak is one of the players who were dropped by RCB after just one game in the competition. The Bangladeshi spinner played just one game for the franchise. It was in 2008 against Rajasthan Royals. He bowled 2 overs, gave away 29 runs and never played for the franchise again.

2) Tim David (IPL 2021)

Tim David is one of the recent entrants to this list. In the UAE phase of IPL 2021, Tim David was drafted in as a replacement signing. However, he was just one game and after that, the likes of Dan Christian came back into the XI. David is a clean hitter of the ball and maybe, RCB could have thought about giving him more opportunities.

3) Shadab Jakati (IPL 2014)

Shadab Jakati played an important role in the CSK squad in the initial seasons. After the franchise released him, RCB picked up the Goa spinner. However, they could offer him just one game. In that encounter, in 3.4 overs, the left-arm spinner gave away 41 runs without collecting a wicket. From the next encounter, Jakati did not find a place in the XI.

4) Abhinav Mukund (IPL 2013)

It was the time when RCB were hunting for an Indian batsman to do well in the playing XI. They tried Abhinav Mukund for one encounter but dropped him after that. In the game against Rajasthan Royals, the left-handed opener scored 19 runs but took 21 balls for it. Hence, he did not get another chance.

5) Prayas Ray Barman (IPL 2019)

As a teenager, Prayas Ray Barman had done well in regional leagues and hence, RCB hired him at the auctions. However, the West Bengal cricketer could not do well in the one game he played for RCB. He was dropped from the XI after the game.
