Due to the constraints in the format of the league, it may not be possible to give a lot of chances to certain players. In Mumbai Indians’ case, too, there are a few players who faced this. We talk about seven such cricketers in this article.

1) Stuart Binny (IPL 2010)

Although Binny is associated with teams such as Rajasthan Royals and RCB, it is actually for Mumbai that he made his debut. It was in 2010 and it was a game against KKR. Binny made just eight runs in that game and gave away nine runs in the only over he bowled. He did not play for the franchise again.

3) Piyush Chawla (IPL 2021)

With the team struggling in the spin department, at IPL 2021 Auctions, MI decided to hire Piyush Chawla. However, the veteran could get only one game in the blue-and-gold jersey. It was against SRH and after he failed to impress, Chawla was dropped for the next encounter.

4) Chris Lynn (IPL 2021)

Lynn is one of the players who were dropped by the Mumbai Indians after just one game in the competition. The Aussie opener got just one game across two seasons. Against RCB in IPL 2021, he played a match but after Quinton de Kock arrived, the player was sent back to the bench.

5) Mohammad Ashraful (IPL 2009)

When he started out, Mohammad Ashraful was rated very highly. He was one of the very few Bangladeshi players who got a chance in the IPL. However, Ashraful, in the only chance he got in 2009, did not do very well. He took 10 balls to score two runs before he got out. Hence, he got dropped for the next game.
