The popularity of cricket has grown over the years as the fan following of the sport has increased by leaps and bounds. Several cricketers have become celebrities now owing to their fantastic talent and skills. However, unlike other professions, an athlete cannot play a sport for a long time. After the age of 40, the body of the sports players does not support them much.
For this reason, even the cricketers have to end their careers one day or the other. It is the dream of every star cricketer to end his career on a fantastic note because he had served his nation for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, not every cricket star received a proper farewell.
Here’s a list of the eight cricketers who had a sad ending to their glorious careers.
8.Navjot Singh Sidhu
One of the most open-hearted players of all time, Navjot Singh Sidhu had a dismal end to his cricketing career. The big-hitting Punjabi was one of the very few Indian batsmen who could dominate the opposition bowlers from the first ball. Unfortunately, due to dressing room politics, his career ended on an unhappy note. As per reports, the higher-ups did not want Sidhu in the World Cup team.
7.James Taylor
Unlike all the other cricketers present on this list, James Taylor is the least popular name. Still, he had one of the saddest ends to his professional career as a cricketer. He had to quit the sport at the early age of 26 because of an insidious heart condition “arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy”.
Safe to say this has been the toughest week of my life! My world is upside down. But I'm here to stay and I'm battling on! #lifestooshort 😝🤒
