    T20 Blast is the premiere T20 tournament of England. It is one of the oldest T20 tournaments in the world, with all the counties of English cricket participating in it. As per the current rules, BCCI allows Indian players to participate in one-days and first-class games of counties. However, the Indian players do not play in T20 games.

    This rule came into existence after the IPL started in 2008. Before that, all Indian players were free to play the T20 tournament as well. Here’s a list of the eight Indian cricketers who have played in T20 Blast tournament of England –

    1. Anil Kumble played for Surrey in 2006 T20 Blast

    Legendary Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble represented Surrey in the 2006 county season. During that year, he played two T20s as well, scalping four wickets for Surrey.

    2. Sourav Ganguly played for 2 teams in T20 Blast

    Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is best remembered for his iconic T-shirt celebration on English soil. In 2005 and 2006, Ganguly turned up for Glamorgan and Northamptonshire, respectively in the T20 tournaments.

    3. Murali Kartik played in T20 Blast

    Perhaps, every Indian cricket fan would know about this name. Current commentator Murali Kartik represented Middlesex from 2007 to 2009, followed by a stint with Somerset. He even played CLT20 for an English county.

    4. Harbhajan Singh

    The conditions in England do not favor the spinners much. Harbhajan Singh did not enjoy much success in his stint with Surrey in 2005 as he bagged only four wickets in eight matches.

    5. Dinesh Mongia

    Like Ganguly and Kartik, Dinesh Mongia turned up for two counties in the T20 tournament. He was a part of the Lancashire team in 2004, and in the 2005 tournament, Mongia donned the Leicestershire jersey.

    6. Virender Sehwag

    Explosive Indian opener Virender Sehwag had a lackluster outing in the T20 Blast of the year 2003. He turned up for Leicestershire, managing only 86 runs in six matches.

    7. Yuvraj Singh

    Regarded by many as the greatest white-ball all-rounder in Indian cricket history, Yuvraj Singh scored 154 runs and took five wickets for Yorkshire back in 2003. It was the inaugural edition of the T20 tournament.

    8. Mohammad Kaif

    Mohammad Kaif was one of the best fielders of his era. The former Indian middle-order batter turned up for Derbyshire in 2003 but could score only 75 runs in five innings.
