The Indian cricket team took a 2-1 lead in the 5-match Test series against the England cricket team by recording a comprehensive win at the Kennington Oval. Not many fans expected that the Indian cricket team would defeat the England cricket by 157 runs when the hosts bowled out Virat Kohli’s men for just 191 runs on the opening day of the Kennington Oval Test match.
However, the Indian cricket team proved why they are the best Test team in the world right now by making a splendid comeback. The England cricket team managed to take a lead of 99 runs in the first innings, with Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes helping the team with a fifty each. In reply, the Indian cricket team batted brilliantly in the second innings.
Indian opener Rohit Sharma notched up his first-ever Test hundred on English soil and he brought the team back into the contest. He received great support from the trio of Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Although none of the three Indian batters could score a hundred, their contributions helped India take a big lead.
Eventually, it was a 100-run partnership between wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and all-rounder Shardul Thakur that helped the Indian cricket team reach past 400. Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav also contributed their bit as India ended the second innings with 466 runs on the board.
England openers provided a good start but India recorded a big win
Chasing 368 runs to win the Kennington Oval Test match, the England cricket team received a good start with their opening pair Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns batting well. Both batsmen scored a fifty. However, none of the other batsmen could score big. All Indian bowlers fired in unison to give the team a memorable victory. Here are the top Twitter reactions to India’s win:

I feel he must have told “Remaining 63 over England should feel like hell………”#INDvENG #Ovaltest pic.twitter.com/N3AJaAIUG4
Kohli’s team has a historic opportunity to win by a margin of 3-1 in England. No Indian team has done that. But, the way, they have taken 2-1 lead at #Ovaltest , you can expect anything now. Well done boys! #ENGvIND #INDvENG
