New Zealand cricket team’s star batsman Kane Williamson has today announced his decision to step down as the team’s Test captain and Tim Southee is now set to lead the team in future series as New Zealand’s next Test captain.
Kane Williamson has received several criticism for his performance in the T20 format of the game, however, he has been phenomenal for the team in the longer formats of the game, ODI and Test cricket.
As such, Williamson’s decision gave many a shock as he they believe it would have been brilliant had he quit T20 format. Meanwhile, a Twitterati noted that, with Williamson stepping down as captain, no member of the Fab Four is captain of their respective country anymore.
