The Delhi based franchise Delhi Capitals were once again led by the Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season after reaching the playoffs last year.

However, the story did not continue from last season. Even though Pant got to lead the team again this season, Delhi Capitals failed to make it to the IPL 2022 playoffs, finishing 5th in the points table.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed his dissatisfaction with Rishabh Pant’s captaincy approach this season. The former KKR batsman stated that there were many instances when he didn’t complete his bowler’s full quota of 4 overs and even discussed his batting, stating that most of his runs didn’t come in winning cause.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra stated that sometimes Pant left him scratching his head, while there were many instances when a bowler didn’t complete his full 4 overs even after doing so well, “There was a match in which Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets in his three overs but wasn’t given his fourth over,” said Chopra.

He added that Pant needed to contribute more runs towards winning causes, “Rishabh Pant’s form with the bat was also a big issue for DC. His runs didn’t come in winning causes. You need to contribute to winning causes. Unfortunately, Pant wasn’t able to.”

Rishabh Pant featured in all of the matches of the Delhi Capitals and scored 340 runs in the IPL 2022 at an average of 30.91 and failed to score a single fifty plus score with his highest being 44 runs against Rajasthan Royals.
