AB de Villiers wants his bestfriend and former RCB teammate Virat Kohli to play in newly founded SA20 League

Former South African batter AB de Villiers expressed his desire to witness Virat Kohli participating in the SA20 following his retirement from international cricket.

During the ICC World Cup 2023, Kohli demonstrated exceptional performance, amassing 765 runs in 11 innings with three centuries, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the highest runs in a single edition of the tournament.

Kohli boasted a remarkable batting average of 95.62 and a strike rate of 90.3, accompanied by six half-centuries, surpassing Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds.

Known for his role in the Indian Premier League with Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli has accumulated 7263 runs in 237 games. AB de Villiers, who played alongside Kohli at RCB, expressed his wish for Kohli to venture into the SA20 league post his international career.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, De Villiers stated, “I want to see him playing T20 league in South Africa. Once he is done with his international career, he can come over to South Africa to play in SA20. That would be amazing.”

Furthermore, De Villiers revealed his aspiration to contribute to RCB as a coach or mentor, expressing a strong connection with the team and fans. He added, “My heart is still with the RCB. I was with them for years, and I have a good connection with the fans. I can’t say anything at the moment, but I want to see myself in RCB colors in the future.”
